Florals

This collection of paintings started when I was inspired by a spectacular collection of Canna-lilies, at the Tulip festival in Ottawa, Canada. What started as one study, quickly turned into an entire series. First of Canna, now of many flowers, I see each painting as a micro-cosm and commentary of our physically larger world. I see each flower as an intoxicating intimate conversation, and the mystery and awesome beauty of our natural world. Metaphor makes each painting more than an observation.
